Privacy Policy
DRAFT, pending legal review. This page was written against the planned design of the site and has not been reviewed by counsel. It is reconciled with what actually fires and what is actually stored before the site is promoted. Items marked [TO CONFIRM: ...] are not yet sourced.

The short version
The Paycheck Dial works out its estimate in your browser. You see your results without giving us anything. If you choose to have the results emailed to you and tick the consent box, we receive your email address, the figures shown on the page and the four dollar amounts you entered, and we keep them in our contact system until you ask us to delete them or you unsubscribe. We do not sell your data.
What stays on your device
Everything you type in, and every figure the estimate shows, unless you choose the optional email below. They are held in the page while it is open and are gone when you close or reload it. The page itself does not save your figures in cookies or browser storage. Printing or saving the page makes a copy on your device only. See “Analytics and advertising” below for what happens if you accept optional cookies.
What we collect, and only if you opt in
The email-results box next to the result is optional; the result is complete without it. Nothing is sent until you tick the consent box and press the button. The box reads: “Email me my results, and keep my email and these figures so Tax Sherpa can send me tax tools, news and invitations to the Tax Strategy Network. I can unsubscribe or ask for deletion anytime.” It is one consent for both purposes: the results email, and the tax tools, news and invitations. If you tick the box and press the button, the page sends to our contact system:
- your email address;
- your consent, the exact consent wording you saw, its version and the time you gave it;
- the figures the page shows you: the total tax and the net amount to you for Schedule C and for an S-corp (at the conservative estimate, at the aggressive estimate when you gave your hours, and at your slider position), the compensation estimates, the QBI-optimal wage when the page shows one, and the difference between the scenarios;
- the four dollar amounts you entered: revenue, expenses, wages paid to others, and other income;
- the categories you chose: your industry, state, filing status, whether the industry is treated as a specified service business, your hours per week if you gave them, and the tax year;
- three ranges used to sort contacts (a revenue range, a profit range and a range for the difference between the scenarios, for example “$100,000 to $250,000”).
Nothing else you typed is sent. If you do not tick the box, none of the above leaves your browser.
How we use it
To email you your results, restating your figures and assumptions in the message, and to send you tax tools, news and invitations to the Tax Strategy Network from Tax Sherpa at the email you gave. The ranges are used internally to group contacts. The figures are not used for advertising audiences and are not sent to any analytics or advertising tool (see below).
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your email address, your figures and your dollar amounts until you ask us to delete them or you unsubscribe. There is no fixed period after which they are cleared automatically. To ask for deletion, write to us (see Contact). You can also unsubscribe from any email. [TO CONFIRM (phase 5): that our contact system can clear the stored figures and the contact on request; that deleting also removes the sent results email from its message history and logs; and what an unsubscribe does to the stored figures. This section is rewritten to match what is verified.]
Estimates only
The Paycheck Dial gives simplified estimates for tax year 2026 from the numbers you enter. It is not tax advice, not a tax return, and not a recommendation of a salary or an entity type. See the Terms of Use.
Who handles it
- GoHighLevel (LeadConnector) receives the optional opt-in, holds the contact record and the stored figures, and sends the email. Access to those contacts is limited to the people at Tax Sherpa we name for it. [TO CONFIRM: access list and sign-in controls]
- Railway hosts this page's files. It receives ordinary web-server request data (such as your IP address) when you load the page, which is how any website is delivered. The opt-in is planned to go to our contact system directly, not through our server. [TO CONFIRM (phase 5): that the opt-in endpoint is the contact system's own and Railway logs hold none of the figures]
We do not sell your data to anyone for any purpose.
Analytics and advertising
The landing page and the calculator page are each planned to load Google Tag Manager, which manages the tools below. A cookie banner (CookieYes) is set before the other tools load. Nothing that needs your consent runs until your choice is known, and the banner's settings link lets you change your choice at any time. The events this site sends to these tools say only that something happened and where (for example which button was pressed, which question was shown, which ad or page version you came from) and carry an event identifier, never your answers, your dollar figures, your results or your email address. [TO CONFIRM: Tag Manager container, and the final list of tags after phase 5 checks what fires on the live site]
| Tool | Purpose | Consent behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Google Tag Manager | Loads and manages the tools below. | Loads on the page; it runs the tools according to your cookie choice. |
| CookieYes | The cookie banner and your consent choice. | Runs first, before the other tools. Every consent type starts as denied until you choose. It records your choice so it can be applied on later visits. |
| Google Analytics 4 | Counts visits and page views to understand how the tool is used. | If you decline, it sends only cookieless pings with no identifying cookie. If you accept, it may set analytics cookies. |
| Microsoft Clarity | Session recordings and heatmaps: anonymized mouse movement, clicks and scrolling, to find where the page is hard to use. | Runs only after you accept analytics cookies. [TO CONFIRM (phase 5): that Clarity is configured so the form fields you type into and the results shown on screen are masked and never recorded; until observed, this row is not final] |
| Meta Pixel and Conversions API | Measures advertising results and builds advertising audiences on Facebook and Instagram. | Runs only after you accept advertising cookies. [TO CONFIRM: whether a Meta pixel fires on this site, which one, and whether the Conversions API is used] |
| InboxGeek | Recognizes an anonymous browser and may match it to an email address. If it matches, it adds that contact to our contact system with one tag and starts a short welcome email series. | Runs only after you accept advertising cookies. [TO CONFIRM: that InboxGeek fires on this site, and the legal basis and unsubscribe wording for contacts it resolves] |
Once you accept, these tools may set cookies and share activity on this site with their providers (Google, Microsoft, Meta, InboxGeek).
Your choices
Decline optional cookies in the banner, or change your choice from its settings link. Skip the optional email, and nothing you entered leaves your browser. To stop our emails, unsubscribe from any email. To ask us to delete your record, write to us (see Contact).
Children
This is a business tool for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy, for example if we add a vendor or change what we collect. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision.
